STUDY PLAN

The Master in Chemical Engineering focuses on developing advanced knowledge for integration and process optimization, chemical reactors, applied thermodynamics, biological processes, and transport phenomena, giving graduates the appropriate technical and scientific skills. In addition to a set of structuring Curricular Units (hards) ranging from Engineering Sciences, Materials and Applications, Bioindustries, Transfer Phenomena, Chemical Reactors, and Separation Processes, it is divided into three Specialty Areas (majors) – Environment, Quality and Energy and Biorefinery. Students also have at their disposal two Optional Curricular Units (minors) from a set of eight where they can find, for example, Transversal Skills, Introduction to Scientific Research, Industrial Management and Leadership. Over four semesters, master's students interact with research groups and projects and approach real case studies to develop multidimensional capabilities for analysis, planning and implementation of new technologies in problem-solving.

Graduates should be able to plan and carry out experiments, analyze and interpret results, design a system or process to achieve a given objective with safety, sustainable and realistic constraints. They also have to demonstrate skills to identify and solve complex chemical engineering problems and know how to collaborate in the development of new products and processes.
