The Dow Chemical Company has a job opportunity at the Dow Polyurethanes for a Production Engineer (m/f) in the Isocyanates Manufacturing Plant located in Estarreja, Portugal.

We are seeking a talented chemical engineer at the beginning of his/her career that after appropriate training will work:
- Designing our manufacturing processes safely and reliably delivering the solutions that are supporting our business growth.
- Analyzing and interpreting data, driving informed decision-makers, and ensuring efficient operations.
- Ensuring the operational excellence of our facilities and our processes.
Improving current processes, mitigating risks, improving efficiency and driving down costs.

The primary roles and responsibilities are:
- to place health, safety and environmental compliance as his/her first priority;
- to manage products to continually improve their yield, quality and productivity;
- to conduct root cause investigations for problem-solving;
- to routinely audit process performance against established statistical control at various process steps;
- to know process technology and product quality systems;
- to write operational procedures;
- to conduct training to operational and maintenance personnel;
- to act as a manufacturing representative for improvement projects and eventually as a project manager;
- to define process control strategies for new projects/process technologies;
- to implement process control solutions to capture improvement opportunities;
- to program control applications through a distributed control system;
- to simulate applications in order to verify functionality of the control program and for training plant operators;
- to participate in turnarounds and project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops;

Qualifications:
- Masters in Chemical Engineering
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Good technical and interpersonal skill-set
